We’re proud of our residentials. Our dedicated and experienced teams provide an experience that is tailored to the needs of your group and they deliver real adventures and activities in the great outdoors.

We want to show you just what we can do. That’s why we’ve organised a series of teacher and group leader familiarisation events throughout our network of locations in England and Wales that we’d love you to attend.

These events will:

  • Enable you and your family to experience some of the fantastic locations and facilities that we have to offer
  • Give you an overnight experience with YHA
  • Give you the opportunity to participate in some of the activities we can offer to schools or groups
  • Let you meet representatives from some of the local attractions in the area that your group can visit during your trip
  • Let you sample the delights of our delicious groups menu

To book your place, email our go-to groups booker, Mike Sabin, on [email protected]

Terms and Conditions

These events are available for up to two teachers per school plus their families/friends.  All teacher places are FREE whilst family and friends will receive FREE accommodation (with meals charged at standard rates).  All events are for two days/one night.  An optional additional overnight can be added for any persons travelling a long distance.  Subject to availability.

Free planning visits

Whether you’ve stayed with us before or are new to YHA, we encourage group leaders to organise a preview visit to your chosen hostel.

Your visit will provide the perfect opportunity for you to talk to YHA staff, gain assistance with completing essential paperwork, and get first-hand experience of the activities available. Plus, if you have a distance to travel, or you just want longer to explore the surrounding area, we are happy to offer you free overnight accommodation at your chosen hostel too.

You can book your planning visit with us once you have confirmed your booking with us.
