Overview
YHA Cardiff Central has a 5-star rating and everything you need to explore the vibrant Welsh capital. This former hotel is packed with mod cons and has excellent facilities for school trips and groups. One of our three state-of-the-art meeting rooms even has an interactive whiteboard – perfect for studying or a city break. You’ll also find whiteboards, flipcharts, projectors and audio equipment.
Groups can stay connected with free Wi-Fi (including bedrooms), or relax in our stylishly decorated social areas. Hang out in the bustling bar and restaurant, or take advantage of our tasty group catering options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We’ve got 24 hour access if you fancy a night on the town exploring Cardiff’s famous nightlife, and the hostel is decorated with murals inspired by Wales. There’s plenty of peace of mind for group leaders too, with 24 hour staffing, regular checks of the hostel and CCTV across the building.
Whether you’re discovering Cardiff’s past at St. Fagin’s National History Museum, or having fun at the Doctor Who Experience, there’s plenty for groups to enjoy. Sports fans will love having the Principality Stadium nearby, and the re-developed Cardiff Bay area is a tourist’s dream. Use our central location to make the most of Wales’ shopping, culture and entertainment.

How to get here
By train:
There is a train connecting from Cardiff central to Cardiff Queen street station. It is then a short walk from the Station to our hostel.
On foot:
When approaching the hostel on foot along Herbert Street/Tyndale Street from the direction of Cardiff Central train station, keep to the left hand side of the pavement throughout in order to pass under the flyover on the north side. Use the pelican crossing opposite the hostel as there is no pedestrian way through on the south side. There are directional signs on the street which should help you on your way. Cyclists should follow a similar route.
