Want a great base for exploring Alnwick Castle, the Northumberland coast and Lindisfarne? This former courthouse in Alnwick town centre is perfect for visiting one of most historically important places in the north of England.
The hostel has free Wi-Fi to keep groups and school trips entertained, plus plenty of space to play or study. Groups and educational visits can expect a games room, a quiet room, and an outdoor space with picnic tables. There’s also a meeting room with data projector, whiteboard and flip chart. YHA Alnwick can provide evening meals and picnic lunches for pre-booked groups, so you’ll never go hungry. There’s also a licensed bar of beers, wines and soft drinks for the evenings.
Major attractions can be reached from the door, and you’ll find favourites like Alnwick Castle (the setting for Hogwarts in Harry Potter!) and Alnwick Gardens less than a mile away. A stay here isn’t complete without a visit to Barter Books – one of the largest second hand bookshops in Europe. Wildlife lovers and biology students are just a 15 minute drive from Lindisfarne, or you could brush up on history with a visit to the castles of Bamburgh, Warkworth and Dunstanburgh.
