YHA is a registered charity with a clear mission “To help all, especially young people of limited means, to a greater knowledge, love and care of the countryside, and appreciation of the cultural values of towns and cities, particularly by providing Youth Hostels or other accommodation for them in their travels, and thus to promote their health, recreation and education.”
Though we are extremely proud of our heritage, the YHA of today has come a long way so if you haven’t been to see us in a while, it’s high time you checked out the changes.
Because we are a not-for-profit organisation the money we make goes straight back into improving our facilities and keeping our prices affordable. Over the last 10 years we have invested over £30 million in our properties, resulting in a decade of refurbishments and renovations, plus the addition of some brilliant brand new sites.
YHA is a charity that transforms young lives forever through travel and real adventure. And just by choosing us – you may not know it – but you’ve had a part to play in the impact we’ve made.
