Subject: Classified Mission recruits – help us find the next Alex Rider!

Turn your students into super agents, watch them reap the rewards of teamwork, enjoy the thrills of the great outdoors and ignite a passion for reading with the YHA Alex Rider Classified Mission. We know how important it is to pick the right residential, which is why we are proud to team up with Walker Books and author Anthony Horowitz to bring you this exciting action adventure package.

During this 2, 3 or 4-night residential experience, your students (or ‘agents’ as they will be referred to) will be put through their paces as they hone their skills at a variety of action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled activities, as well as a number of spy skills unique to our YHA Alex Rider Classified Mission.

Agents will be encouraged to climb, jump, leap and step forward into new challenges as they gain new skills, build confidence and enjoy an all-encompassing learning experience. Abseil or climb on ‘real’ rock, learn essential field craft skills, canoe or raft across lakes, design new spy gadgets, crack codes and hunt down double agents. There are bags of exhilarating activities, guaranteed to keep you and your students entertained. For schools and groups wanting to tackle low-level activities with a spy twist, check out Alex Rider Mission Briefing.

All participating students will receive a free copy of 'Stormbreaker', the first book in the Alex Rider series, courtesy of Walker Books. Participating schools will receive exclusive discounts on the Alex Rider series. It’s the perfect way to engage your students with a love of reading while enjoying real challenges in the great outdoors!

Why students love our Alex Rider packages

  • Celebrate Anthony Horowitz’s bestselling books with a truly memorable residential experience.
  • Students receive a free copy of 'Stormbreaker', the first book in the Alex Rider series.
  • Students receive a mission complete certificate of their achievements.
  • Every participating school will receive discounted offers for the Alex Rider series.
  • All transport to and from activity locations is included within the price.
  • Evening activities are also included in the package.

From the moment we arrived, the special agent mission and new agent names got the group instantly hooked. All the activities linked to the spy theme and gave the trip a new element. The last day’s activity which led to the discovery of the Alex Rider books hidden in a room was brilliant! It meant we had 30 copies of the book (a rare thing indeed) and we started reading as a class as soon as we got back. We have done lots of literacy work: comparing the book to the film, persuasive writing and vocabulary work based on Horowitz’s rich language. Our science has come from creating spy gadgets for Alex which covers a lot of areas of science in the new National Curriculum.
