Who knew the Jurassic Coast could be so much fun? YHA Portland offers great access to beautiful beaches, thrilling watersports and fascinating coastlines (because geology rocks). This friendly Edwardian house has views over Lyme Bay. Walking and cycling groups are spoilt for choice too, with the Round Island Coastal Path nearby and lovely views to be seen on foot or by bike.
YHA Portland offers a bright and cheery lounge, TV and plenty of books and board games to keep you entertained, and guest beers such as Dorset Knob. It’s easy to relax here and school trips and groups can sit down to tasty group catering, including breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal.
From an educational package called “CSI Jurassic Coast” to Henry VIII’s mighty Portland Castle, our area is ripe for a fab school trip. Watersports lovers can head to Chesil Beach and the award-winning Weymouth Beach to try sailing, diving, windsurfing and sea kayaking. You could also try something gentler with a trip to Portland Museum or a lazy day of wildlife watching at the Fleet Lagoon.
