Based in the Docklands area and with great transport links to all the famous London attractions, YHA London Thameside is a friendly base that’s ideal for schools and groups, and great value too! Five minutes walk from Rotherhithe overground station you can be at all of London’s key attractions in less than a 30 minute tube ride. Or you could catch the River Bus and arrive in central London via the Thames.
Our coach drop-off is just outside the front door, there is ample public transport nearby, and the Thames Path is just a couple of minutes from the hostel door. The Thames Path is a great option to explore! It takes you along the sinuous route of the Thames through the historic docks and setting of many Dickens novels, before emerging at London Bridge and the Tower of London. The path is flat and easy to follow, and there is usually plenty of activity to watch along the way.
This purpose-built hostel offers 24-hour access and has plenty of space for you to relax and get comfy after a busy day in the capital. We have great social areas where you can use the free Wi-Fi, study or watch TV together. Plus our lounge can also be used as an informal meeting room or breakout space. With 320 beds, all in ensuite rooms, you’ll be placed together on corridors that can be secured for your individual group.
No need for rumbling tummies! In addition to drinks and snacks being for sale all day long, we can also help make group meal times easy too with pre-bookable options. Pop along to our spacious dining room and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast or evening meal, or pick up a packed lunch to take out on your city adventures.
There is so much to explore in London it can be difficult to decide what to do first. Our bolt-on activities are a great place to start! Step out on a unique adventure on the streets of London with our city exploration bolt-on provided with the Exploration Society, or tie in a visit to a West End show with a theatre workshop bolt-on provided by Theatre Workout.
London is packed with group-friendly attractions. Top favourites include: Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, London Dungeon, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, The view from The Shard, London Zoo, City Cruises, the Royal Opera House, Tate Britain, Coca-cola London Eye, Science Museum, Big Ben, The Making of Harry Potter studio tour, and Madame Tussauds, to name just a few!
