Overview
For seaside stays at Brighton’s scenic sibling, you can’t beat a stay at YHA Eastbourne. This intimate 30-bed hostel has an uber modern style and sits just half an hour from the town centre. With free Wi-Fi and a cosy social area with TV and board games, school trips and groups can wind down after a day on the beach. Look out for essentials like individual reading lights and plugs for your gadgets.
YHA Eastbourne is self-catering only, so remember to bring your food with you. You’ll find plenty of space to prepare delicious meals, not to mention extensive grounds with picnic benches.
As well as the iconic Beachy Head beauty spot, Eastbourne has a charming seaside atmosphere and rocks “the busiest bandstand in the UK”. Why not catch the land train along the seafront, or visit the Towner Art Gallery. Walking and cycling groups are just 400 metres from the South Downs Way, or you could visit the local watersports centre for sailing, windsurfing and power boating.
