For a fun-filled seaside break Scarborough is unbeatable: two safe, sandy beaches, penny arcades, pirate ship and miniature railway. Surf schools offer beginner lessons, board hire, SUPs, and kayaks. For wet and wild action in warmer water, the Alpamare Waterpark has flumes, waves and an infinity pool all at 35°C.

Visit Scarborough Castle to find out about the Romans, Normans, Roundheads and Cavaliers who built it, or go to the Rotunda Museum and learn about pioneering geologist, William Smith. Then hunt your own fossils or go on a seashore safari to look at the strange creatures that live in rock pools.

With 46 beds YHA Scarborough is perfect for groups who want a quiet hostel to themselves. After meals the dining room can be used a classroom, dance floor or prayer room. Breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals are available or use our self catering kitchen to prepare your own food.

The Cleveland Way and Tabular Hills Way both pass the hostel which is also a perfect base for exploring the North York Moors and Wolds, where miles of paths, tracks and quiet lanes provide countless routes for walkers and cyclists.
