Great for walks in the Brecon Beacons
One of YHA’s most remote hostels, YHA Llanddeusant is a traditional style hostel in the Black Mountain range of the Brecon Beacons. It has an informal feel which is boosted by a range of on and off-site outdoor activities provided by Arc Adventures.
Perfect for group residentials and school trips, YHA Llanddeusant is situated within an international dark skies area, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an international geo-park. Facing west, The Youth Hostel garden has seating and tables for meals. Groups can enjoy beautiful sunsets and views over Coed Pen Arthur and Tricrug across to the peak of the Black Mountain (Mynydd Du).
Hiking and biking trails lead directly from the hostel to the legendary Llyn-y-Fan glacial lake and across into one of the most stunning and remote mountain areas in the UK. The area is known for an abundance of red kites. Other nearby attractions include the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, and the medieval castles of Dryslwyn, and Carreg Cennen.
