Great Lake District location
Walking groups and field trips will love staying at YHA Coniston Coppermines – this rural retreat sits between Coniston Water and the Old Man of Coniston. Culture fans can be close to Brantwood (home of Victorian personality John Ruskin) and the National Trust’s steam-powered yacht too.
500ft up the Old Man himself, this hostel has a cosy lounge to relax in and a woodburning stove to make things extra lovely. The walls are covered with inspiring knowledge of the Lake District and we can offer wholesome group catering for breakfast, lunch and evening. There’s a licensed bar with real ale too – perfect for winding down after a day of watersports or outdoor activities. Groups can huddle around the roaring fire, or bond over board games and great conversation.
Whether you’re on a geography field trip, hiking in the hills or exploring Grizedale Forest, there’s a lot to see nearby. How about a day on the water canoeing, sailing or kayaking; or scrambling at the famous Pudding Stone climbing spot? You’ll feel on top of the world at this secluded Lakeland spot.
